The Opportunity

An engineering-focused project management consultancy is looking to bring on a Project Engineer or Project Manager to help deliver infrastructure upgrade projects across major operational environments.

The business specialises in delivering technically complex upgrades within live facilities where reliability and continuity of operations are critical. Their work involves upgrading ageing infrastructure across large campuses and critical sites - including substations, central plant, services tunnels, water and sewer networks, pipelines and stormwater systems.

With projects often delivered while facilities remain fully operational, the team provides strong technical oversight, project management and stakeholder coordination to ensure works are delivered safely and with minimal disruption.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking to bring in technically capable engineers who want to take greater ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure upgrades.

The Role

This is a delivery-focused engineering role where you will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors to guide projects from design through to construction.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing engineering designs and providing technical input during project development

  • Supporting procurement and preparing/reviewing Design & Construct (D&C) packages

  • Managing contractors and coordinating project delivery on site

  • Ensuring projects are delivered with minimal disruption to live operational environments

  • Managing project scope, commercial matters and variations

  • Acting as the technical interface between clients, designers and contractors

  • Supporting project planning, delivery and reporting

The role offers the opportunity to move beyond traditional consulting design work and become involved in the full lifecycle of infrastructure delivery.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in engineers who combine technical credibility with the ability to manage projects and stakeholders.

You will likely have:

  • Around 5-8 years of engineering experience

  • An engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering

  • Experience working in a consulting environment

  • Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, building services or major facilities projects

  • The ability to review engineering designs and challenge consultants where required

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive and confident approach to problem solving

Engineers looking to transition from design consulting into a more delivery-focused project role would be particularly well suited.

What You'll Get

  • Exposure to major infrastructure upgrades across complex operational sites

  • The opportunity to own projects end-to-end rather than focusing purely on design

  • A small, high-performing consultancy environment where your input has real impact

  • Direct access to senior leadership and decision-making

  • The chance to grow with a business that is expanding its project capability

If you're an engineer who enjoys solving real-world infrastructure challenges and wants to play a key role in delivering technically complex projects, we'd be keen to speak with you.
