What you're getting into

This is one of the most established engineering consultancies in the world. They have been delivering technically complex projects on every continent, which means when you join the Brisbane team, you are backed by a depth of knowledge and a network that most firms simply cannot match.

But the Brisbane operation is not a satellite office ticking boxes for head office. The team works autonomously on genuinely significant projects, and right now, that includes work tied to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. The work has been won and it is going into the design phase for one of the most watched events on the planet.

The culture is professional without being stiff. You will be working in multi-discipline teams across building services and structural & Civil, which means exposure to projects at a scale and complexity that sharpens you as an engineer.

What you'll be doing

You will lead hydraulic services delivery across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design development through to detailed documentation and construction review. You will be the person clients and contractors come to when they need answers, which means the role carries real responsibility from day one.

Day to day you will be designing across water supply, sanitary plumbing and drainage, stormwater, hot water, gas, rainwater recycling and trade waste. You will review contractor submissions, attend site meetings, and manage your own workload against project programs. Nobody will be managing every hour of your day.

If you have been in a firm where hydraulics is one small slice of what a generalist does, this is different. You are the specialist. The role is built around your discipline.

What you'll need

Seven to ten years in hydraulic services, with experience covering the full range, water supply, drainage, gas, stormwater, hot water and trade waste. Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3500, the NCC and the Plumbing Code of Australia. RPEQ or QBCC Licence, or solid progress towards one. Queensland experience is preferred.
