Our client is a specialist multi-discipline building services consultancy, which is locally owned and has grown to 30 engineers since its inception 10 years ago. The business believes in face-to-face meetings, especially when starting a new project, to ensure you fully understand your client’s needs and expectations on each project. They are committed to maintaining this level of collaboration throughout the entire design process, from start to finish.
So far into 2023, the year is shaping up well, having recently moved into a new and larger office space to facilitate future growth. The company has a culture of working hard and rewarding the staff for it, with long weekends for every bank holiday and internal lockout emails after 6 pm to ensure people are not working after hours to avoid burnout. The culture is made up of a relatively young team with good banter in the office, and you celebrate birthdays off and hold a team bonding event once a month during working hours and provide a flexible hybrid approach of working from home for two days per week.
In terms of projects, the business takes on up to 150 per year, from small to medium size with their main sectors being Commercial Offices (new build and existing), Industrial, and Residential.
Day to day:
Leading the design of complex hydraulic services (building services)
Managing small to large scale projects from development of scope to handover
Mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate engineer across mechanical engineering and coordinating other service.
Providing QA to the design team
Attending client meetings and building relationships with project stakeholders
What we need:
Experience in a similar position, within the building services environment (either with a consultancy or contractor
Good understanding of design concepts, the BCA, and Australian standards
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in working with AutoCAD and Revit preferred but not essential.
Bachelor’s degree, TAFE diploma in contracting background
CPEng and/or NER or working towards
